Animal Cruelty, Dangerous & Found Dogs

  • Report any incidences of animal cruelty to the RSPCA on their cruelty line, 0300 1234 999 (24 hour service).
  • Any dangerous dogs should be reported to Cheshire Police by telephone on 101.
  • Found Dogs must be reported to Cheshire West and Chester Council, details below:

What to do if you Find a Dog:

Telephone Cheshire West and Chester Council: 0300 123 7038 (telephone only to avoid delay)

Please provide a description of the dog including as much information as possible:

  • breed (if known)
  • colour
  • gender
  • collar or tag

You will need to keep the dog secured until the dog warden arrives.

They will also ask if you are willing to give your contact details to us. The reason for this is if someone has reported a lost dog, the description may match the dog you have. So they need to make sure that you are happy for them to give your contact details to them to arrange for them to collect it.

What happens next

Cheshire West and Chester Council will contact the dog warden to come and collect the dog from you.
